The Design Crew works with projects of all sizes, from needing reassurance on your decisions, to project management of new builds and renovations.
The first appointment I have with a client is always free. This is to allow me to gauge your needs, the size of the project, and what level of involvement is required.
Decorating Advice
Our homes are a place for our minds to find peace, stimulation, sanctuary, and a host of other emotions and psychology. Just like we get tired of the clothes we wear, we can become bored with the look and feel of our homes. Redecorating is like a facelift; the structure remains the same, we’re just going to pretty it up.
Still, it’s a process and expense that must be respected, and using a designer helps limit the stress, opens up design options you may not have considered, saves you a lot of time by doing the footwork for you, and can help you avoid pitfalls of the inexperienced. Hiring a decorator or designer is a very wise choice if you want to save time and money.
Design Services
Whether renovating or a new build, your home is the most expensive asset you will ever own and will be the place you will pour most of your hard-earned money into. A designer does not only save money, stress, and time, but their contacts with builders, tradespeople, products, and materials open up options that may not otherwise be accessible to you.
The design service can be utilised as early as concept ideas are being developed. We are very happy to work with your architect or builder to bring you the best possible outcome. Project management of your build or renovation is also an option if required.
Garden Design
I have a philosophy - Home starts at the front gate - not the front door. Gardens are rarely on the financial radar when building or renovating, being relegated to “when we can afford it”. However, our indoor-outdoor lifestyle calls for amazing spaces outside just like our wonderful interiors. Not a problem!
Our gardens are an extension of the interior of our homes, reflecting the style and feel. The Design Crew can develop a design that will be a blueprint that you can use to build your garden as funds become available or to provide to a landscaper to install. My experience has shown that if we have a plan or design, saving for the cost is easier as you literally have the goal ‘in your hands’.
A full design includes the 2D plan, a schedule of which plants and trees, pots, water features, furniture, hardscaping, suppliers, and costs. Pricing starts at $599.
Home Staging
It’s a known fact that a well-presented home and garden will always achieve a better price at sale or auction. At times, we forget that what we are selling is not your home, but someone’s new home. Having an objective ‘eye’ on the house is a real advantage. Experienced in making spaces look appealing, The Design Crew is able to work with you to present your home the best it can be within the budget that you have. Depending on what is required for your situation, whether advice on how to declutter, utilise what decor items you already have available, or purchase new decor items on your behalf that you can take to your new home, my service is flexible to meet your needs.
Please note, I don’t work with vacant homes as there are local businesses who specialise in this part of the market.
